Boy Scout Troop #306
Troop #306 of The Spirit of Adventure Council of the Boy Scouts of America has been sponsored by the First Baptist Church for over 100 years.
In January of 2002, Cub Scout Pack #306 came to our church. The troop prides itself in being youth run. One of the purposes of Boy Scouts is to teach leadership. Last year they made the decision to meet outside during the pandemic when they could not meet indoors. During 2020, the troop reached their 100th Eagle Scout Badge.
Some of their key service programs, include collecting food for the Arlington Food Pantry, and service projects in town conservation as part of their Eagle Scout service projects.
They are also continuing to make progress on the Dawn Redwood picnic table that they are building for Magnolia Park as the service project to the town in honor of their 100th anniversary.
